Overview

Nestled at 1221 Ferntree Gully Rd in Scoresby, VIC, Chesterfield Farm Homestead Cafe offers a charming rustic experience that blends farm life with a cozy cafe atmosphere. This unique venue stands out not only as a place to enjoy a simple yet comforting menu but also as a destination where families and visitors can engage closely with a variety of farm animals, making it more than just a typical cafe visit.

The cafe itself serves modest food options, crafted to complement the overall farm experience rather than overshadow it. While the selection may be limited, the welcoming ambiance and the connection to the farm life create a wholesome and genuine feel. The highlight isn’t just the food; it is the chance to enjoy fresh air, wide farm spaces, and authentic rural charm alongside delicious refreshments.

Chesterfield Farm Homestead is ideal for families, especially those with young children eager to explore and interact with animals. From camels and large pigs to ostriches, the farm offers a remarkable array of creatures seldom seen up close. Tractor rides add a playful element, letting visitors explore the grounds while soaking in the scenery. The regular events, such as cow milking demonstrations, enhance the educational aspect, making the visit a well-rounded experience for all ages.

The spacious outdoors and well-maintained facilities ensure that visitors have plenty to see and do. The free parking and online ticket booking system add convenience for day-trippers and locals alike. However, shelter is somewhat limited, so planning visits during cooler hours or milder weather is advisable. For parents, packing a lunch might be wise given the limited food choices for children.

Overall, Chesterfield Farm Homestead Cafe is a refreshing escape from urban life, perfect for families, animal lovers, and those seeking a hands-on farm experience paired with simple cafe fare. It promises a day filled with discovery, fun, and genuine country warmth.

This is a large farm with lots to look at. Buy tickets before you get there. Parking is free. Not many food options for young children perhaps pack lunch. Toilets are outside before you enter the farm. Parking is free. Tractor rides go at certain times from next to the nursery. It costs an extra $5 per ride. Shelter is limited! Wear a hat and avoid hot weather days! The cow milking is at 11.30am so best to arrive before that. There is quite a lot to touch and see!! Great day out for family of all ages!

A great place for a coffee/snack half way through a bike road. Quite busy with all the school kids visiting the historic barn, the cockatoos and the rest of the animals.
